My son dyed his hair red for the first day of school. (It is semipermanent and will last at least six weeks) The other day he got his hair cut short, and his grandpa would have been so proud, until- he dyed his hair red anyway. I should say, I dyed his hair red. He asked me to do it. I figure, get it out of your system now as a kid. Part of being a kid is to do fun stuff like this. I hope the school won't be too mad. I am not really sure what their policy is on crazy hair colors. Oh well.

Good for him. Redheads are being discriminated against over in Britain. Perhaps your son is making a statement of solidarity with the downtrodden?
It looks really cute!
Glad he has the self-confidence to try fun things like that. I would have done anything at that age to avoid attention, especially on the first day of school. He sounds like a really healthy kid!
What a cool mom you are! Though I wanted to experiment, my mom wouldn't let me go near hair dye until I was sixteen (I think?)... anyway, I'm sure he feels pretty hip with this funky hair!
That is way cool, i wonder how old he is. I don't think my mom would have let me do that, but then again we were "the cleavers" lol.
