Interesting Insight into the milk industry itself.

I was researching for an article I was doing for Suite 101 (if you are interested in reading the article is is called "Is Milk Really a Wonder Food?") and I ran across this web site called Dairy Farming Today. It appears to be a site made to help and promote the dairy industry.
Poking around, I found the FAQ and got some interesting information from the "horses mouth" so to speak.
What do you think of this?

Milk from a cloned cow is possibly no different than a regular cow.(Really? But cloned animals do not live as long. Doesn't make sense.)
According to the FDA hormones injected in the cow (for boosting milk production) does not affect the milk.(BS!)
Calves are taken away from the mother, where they are bottle fed their mother's milk for their safely. (what about proper bonding between mother a calf?)
There are very few cloned cows producing milk in the US (really, I didn't realize there were any!)

Those are just a few interesting facts. What do you think of milk?
Do you think kids should have to drink milk with meals?
Does the milk industry have too much power over the FDA and USDA?
Should it even be a food group?
To be honest, I hate the taste of the stuff. I do eat cheese and yogurt but, milk itself is pretty disgusting to me. I can't even really watch someone drink it without feeling a little nauseous!
So, I am definitely not impartial on this topic.

I'm not impartial either! To me, the milk industry is inseparable from the veal industry, and I can't understand how someone who eschews veal on grounds of ethics or compassion can stand the thought of consuming milk. And nutritionally and taste-wise, blech.
Have you come across the "not milk" website? It has some really interesting facts and insights. One thing is for sure- this country needs to decide whether it is working for the best interests of its citizens or whether it is in the pockets of meat and dairy lobbies.

I like milk and think it can have some health benefits for a lot of people.

On the other hand, the more natural the better, and I really wish we had more serious legislation to make sure the cows are treated well.

And I agree with bazu, the dairy industry lobby is way too powerful.
